Professor Francis X. Blouin, Information and History, U-M College of LSA Professor Fran Blouin chairs the President’s Advisory Committee for the University Bicentennial being celebrated in 2017. She will discuss how a remote territorial university founded in 1817 and reestablished in Ann Arbor in 1837 would, by 1900, be considered one of the most important universities in the nation. Professor Blouin tells a remarkable story of extraordinarily new ideas and the power of those ideas to transform all of higher education.
