A parish that started off worshipping in an old shoe factory wound up with a church so grand, it became a cathedral. The Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament is a stunning Neo-Gothic style Roman Catholic cathedral church, and is the seat of the Archbishop of Detroit and the mother church of the Archdiocese. A Roman Catholic Apostolic Center where everyone is warmly invited to engage in the transcendent beauty of sacraments, arts, faith formation, community life, service, and missionary outreach. Enjoy a one-hour guided tour of the sanctuary highlighting history and architecture. Tour guests may want to bring any items (rosaries, medals, wedding rings, scapulars, or other precious sacramentals) you would like to touch to their permanently installed first class relics. On the way back we will stop at The Red Hook in Ferndale where you can pick up a warm beverage and some delicious baked goods.
