The Woodward Avenue Detroit Public Library is one of Detroit’s fi nest gems. Noted architect Cass Gilbert designed the magnifi cent structure and hired the finest artists and artisans of the day to work with him on this project. This presentation will explore the physical building, as well as the murals, paintings, iron work and Pewabic tile installations. Included is information about the 1963 addition and the impressive artists who contributed at that time.
