Having to resort to illicit trading under colonial restrictions, prepared Colombia to engage in the culture of smuggling, which exploded in the '80s with cocaine traffi cking. We will explore the trajectory of cocaine in the US, when two cartels named after Medellin and Cali (two Colombian cities) brought unimaginable power and wealth to its major players and altered the fabric of Colombian society. Pablo Escobar, the most visible representative unleashed war on the state and left an imprint on the youth of both genders and transformed Miami, Florida into the fighting grounds for narcotic turf.
