Kevin Anderson, Foster Parent and Trainer, with his new 16-week old puppy-in-training, Gustavi.
2022 marks the 80th anniversary of Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) helping its clients live the lives they want to live. More than 16,000 guide teams have graduated from GDB since it was founded in 1942. GDB not only improves mobility for its clients, but it also furthers inclusion and advocates for policy reforms that change how the world views blindness. Kevin has been a Leader Dogs for the Blind volunteer since 1997. He is currently raising and training his 28th full-time puppy for Leader Dogs for the Blind. In addition, Kevin has spent ten years volunteering as puppy counselor for the Rochester group of Leader Dog puppy raisers (about 40 members) holding bi-weekly training classes and community training outings.
