Professor John Mogk, Wayne State University Law Professor, will explain why the 1967 riot was not the cause of the city’s slide into today’s abandonment and severe economic decline. Toxic decisions involving the exodus of industry, federal programs, blockbusting and school bussing were the overriding factors. At times, the city government appeared helpless!
