Assumption Grotto Church Presentation

Join us for a meaningful half-day visit to Assumption Grotto, a historic Catholic parish serving Detroit since the 1830s. Founded by German and French settlers as “St. Mary’s in the Woods,” the parish has grown into a beautiful Neo-Gothic church completed in 1929, rich in tradition and devotion. The program includes a brief historical slideshow presentation by the parish historian/archivist, followed by a guided tour of the church and its scenic grounds. Guests will also visit the cherished Assumption Grotto, inspired by the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in France, and have time to browse the gift shop. Coffee and pastries are included.
