A Journey with Dementia

Next meeting: Thursday, August 27, 2026 | 6:00pm-7:30pm
Jim Mangi, Advocate and Nonprofit Founder
Jim Mangi is a Vietnam veteran, an environmental scientist, and the founder and owner of a nationwide, award-winning federal government consulting firm. None of this prepared him for his seventeenyear retirement career as a caregiver for his wife, who was diagnosed with Younger Onset Alzheimer’s disease. Jim turned this difficult journey into a passion – founding a non-profit and working tirelessly to improve the lives and protect the dignity of people living with dementia. In 2024 he received the Governor’s Service Award for his work. Jim now seeks to help the increasing number of other persons in Michigan who are dealing with dementia. Come and hear Jim’s inspiring story first-hand, and learn how you can play a role in making the world a better place for those living with dementia.
