This program begins with meteorologist, Chris Edwards, who will talk about climate trends and local effects that the Detroit area is likely to see in the near future. His presentation is informative, accessible and grounded in science, while emphasizing realistic actions and solutions. Chris’s program will be followed by a presentation from The Greening of Detroit CEO, Lionel Bradford, who will discuss the organization’s environmental and community programs, including tree planting, workforce development and youth engagement, all targeted on efforts to expand Detroit’s urban canopy. His presentation highlights ways individuals can become involved with The Greening of Detroit on different levels. Together, the presentations are designed to inform, engage, and inspire practical local action.
