This immersive experience begins with an introduction to the rich history and cultural significance of Eastern Market, one of the oldest and most vibrant public market districts in the country. Guests will enjoy a guided 90-minute walking tour through the renowned Murals in the Market collection, where colorful large-scale murals created by local and international artists transform the neighborhood into an outdoor gallery. Learn how public art reflects Detroit’s past, present, and future while hearing fascinating stories behind the artists, techniques, and inspiration for the works.

The tour also includes a special behind-the-scenes visit to CAN Art Handworks, where acclaimed Detroit sculptor Carlos Neilbock shares his artistic journey, creative process, and commitment to entrepreneurship and community impact. Guests will also view the inspiring Unity Bell sculpture and discover how Eastern Market became a hub for artists, makers, and local voices. A delicious included lunch at the famous Frank’s Diner rounds out the day with classic Detroit flavor. Blending history, art, storytelling, and local cuisine, this unique tour offers an unforgettable look at the heart and soul of Detroit’s creative community. *Registration deadline for this trip is July 20th, no refunds within 2 weeks of departure.
