Italian architects designed with a sense of purpose and intention to fulfi ll functional needs, while exuding drama, power, longevity and magnifi cence in every sense of the word. These buildings and their contexts, whether it is a Baroque piazza or a sleeping Tuscan hill town, allow us to admire and appreciate some of the greatest achievements of humankind.
