D-Day June 6, 1944 Revisited

Thursday, September 10, 2020 | 6:00pm - 7:00pm

The Thursday Evening Speaker Series is Generously Presented by Stuart Jeffares - Max Broock Realtors, Thank you!

Learn about one of the most important historical events of WWII, when Allied forces invaded Normandy, France and began its liberation of German occupied France (and later Europe) from Nazi control, and laid the foundations of the Allied victory on the Western Front. The genius around the planning for the largest seaborne invasion in history, its military deception
plan (code named Operation Bodyguard) and the creation of FUSAG, the “fictional” First US Army Group, led by General George Patton, all were to mislead the Germans as to the date and
location of the main Allied landings. Professor Cardimen will honor those who served during this historic military battle as he takes you back to the Normandy Beaches identifi ed as GOLD,
JUNO, SWORD, OMAHA and UTAH. He will present an analysis of this invasion including the importance of the ULTRA SECRET along with stories of the brave men who helped lead to its success.
