Special emphasis on the central role of the Native American Saginaw Trail (now Woodward Avenue) in the early history of the area — the remarkable trail marker trees that were an integral part of navigating the complex Indian trail system in southeast Michigan. Visitors will find Old Woodward reconstructed in photos, exploring the downtown buildings and businesses that once lined the street, and the interesting businesses and the people who ran them. Also included is a tour of the Hunter House (next door to the museum), which has been restored to look like a pioneer home from the mid-1800’s.
