8 week session: Tuesdays February 6th - March 27th 9:30 pm - 12:00pm
In this course, the class participants will use acrylic or oil paints to explore color theory, shape and space, along with composition and design. Class members will explore the beauty in everyday objects and explore ways to reveal it in their paintings. With individual guidance and
coaching, participants will also explore their own artistic style and strengths.
Kathleen Sulfaro (Kay) Kay comes to NEXT with a Fine Arts degree from Wayne State University, as well as a Masters in Adult Education and Curriculum Design. She taught high school art for fifteen years. She then transitioned into a second career in business designing courses and interactive on-line learning for major companies.She has continued to develop her own artistic vision and come to realize that pursuing art and beauty are an essential part of her spirit. Class members should bring a 12”x18” sketch pad, 18"x24” canvas or larger, sketching pencils, eraser, and painting supplies to first class.
